INTERCAMBIO CON NORTON SCHOOL CURSO 2011-12

El intercambio ha ido realmente bien. El  primer día ha sido de reconocimiento del Centro educativo y casi sin tiempo para descansar. Hemos visitado el Centro a primera hora y  hemos asistido a algunas clases tanto profesoras como estudiantes.

Luego hemos comido juntos en la cantina y tras dos horas más de clase y para terminar la jornada hemos jugado un partido de "Rounders", que es parecido al baseball americano, durante el cual Sergio el único chico del grupo ha triunfado haciéndose enseguida con el juego y superando ampliamente a los compañeros ingleses.Las chicas no se han quedado atrás y han aprendido rápidamente a darle a la pelota superando también a sus colegas femeninas.

El martes fuimos de excursión a Bath a ver las termas romanas y también la ciudad, muy visitada por la nobleza para tomar los baños y veranear en tiempos pasados.

El tercer día de vuelta al colegio para asistir de forma conjunta a distintas clases prácticas.

Finalmente el último día fuimos a visitar las Cuevas de Cheddar y a la ciudad de Wells donde pudimos entrar a la Catedral, comimos al aire libre y realizamos algunas compras.

Las profesoras acompañantes  esperan que todos los participantes del intercambio hayan disfrutado plenamente durante su estancia en  Midsomer con las familias y sus nuev@s amig@s. Para nosotras ha sido un placer participar y esperamos y deseamos que se vuelvan a realizar nuevos intercambios.

EXCHANGE STUDENTS: INTRODUCTIONS

In the video we see the seven students that are taking part in the School Exchange with the "Norton Hill School". This school is placed in the county of Somerset, which is in the south-west of England. We are visiting them from 25th to 30th of March.

The order of appearance is: Ainhoa, Tania & María, from 3º ESO; and María José, Sergio, Lorena & Vanessa from 2nd of ESO.

All the students are looking forward to meeting their partners and enjoying the week. They think they'll have unforgetable experiences.

2nd ESO bilingual group - INTRODUCING THEMSELVES

In the video we see the students of the 2nd year of ESO that study in the bilingual section. The teacher asked them to introduce themselves and tell us about their families, interests and hobbies.

The order of appearance is: Sergio Buendía, Vanesa, Isabel Mª, Julian Felipe, Irene, Chaima, Ikram, María, Lorena, D. Mishell, Ana, Williams, Carmen, Andrea, Sergio Sánchez and Isaac David.

STORYTELLING at RyC Secondary School: "THE RED PEARL"

The bilingual groups of the school have participated in the performance of "The Red Pearl", a story directed by Alan Kennedy.

To perform any of his stories the director always asks the students for some help and in this story 5 students were needed:

- one character is a rich man that gets his money from stealing. He is so rich that he wears a gold hat.

- a second character is an old man who is a hard worker and knows where the good oysters are in the sea. In the photo he wears a white beard.

- a third character is a lady who helps the old man when he goes to work

- the other two characters are two ladies from the village that love gossiping and they adore the rich man. We see the three of them in this picture.

All the students had a great time and they managed quite well with their English.

It was a good oportunity to practice English in a different environment.

2nd ESO NATURAL SCIENCE  PROJECT  "KNOW MORE ABOUT  NATURE "  

At the bebinning of the second term there are two units related to nature. This is a good opportunity where the students of 2nd ESO can work by themselves preparing a presentation about an ecosystem of their interest.

As a result of this job we can see the 4 best presentations done by the students

       Como comienzo para el segundo trimestre hay dos temas relacionados con la naturaleza. Como parte del aprendizaje autónomo que deben ir consiguiendo los alumnos, se ha propuesto realizar por parejas o de forma individual, un trabajo sobre uno de los ecosistemas existentes en la Tierra. Todos los trabajos realizados (8 en total) han sido expuestos en clase durante la semana del 16 al 22 de enero de 2012. Todos han sido evaluados.
